What is modSUTD?

modSUTD is a free website for the Singapore University of Technology and Design. It holds a catalogue of SUTD courses with prerequisites and credits, converts a pasted SUTD timetable into a .ics calendar file, plans a degree across all ten terms, and finds rooms on campus with floor plans. It is built by SUTD students and is not affiliated with or endorsed by SUTD.

How do I export my SUTD timetable to Google Calendar?

Open your timetable in MyPortal and switch it to List View, select the table and copy it, then paste it into the Timetable panel on modsutd.tech. It parses the classes and offers a .ics file, which Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook all import.

Use List View rather than the weekly grid. The grid shows one week, so filling a term means repeating it, and a class it invents on a date that does not meet cannot be removed by a later export.

Is modSUTD official?

No. modSUTD is built and run by students and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by SUTD. Course information is read from SUTD's own public course pages, and where the two disagree, SUTD's page is correct.

Where do the course reviews come from?

Students write them. Each course has a discussion thread hosted on GitHub Discussions through giscus, and a review is a comment on that thread. Reviews are public, signed with a GitHub account, and are not reduced to a score: there is no rating, only what people wrote.

Does modSUTD track me?

No. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no cookies. The site has no backend and no accounts: it reads static JSON files, and your plan and layout are saved in your own browser. A timetable you paste is parsed in your browser, and nothing leaves it unless you explicitly choose to contribute the class times.

How do I find a room at SUTD?

Search the room code or its name in the Rooms panel. Every room shows its building and floor labelled the way the door plates are, the classes scheduled in it, and a map: rooms surveyed on the campus walk deep-link an indoor floor plan, and the rest pin their own coordinates on OpenStreetMap.

Who runs it, and can I help?

It is open source under Apache 2.0 at github.com/modsutd-community/modsutd, and it is built and maintained by SUTD students. Corrections to course data and new room details are welcome as pull requests or issues.

Can I link to a single course or room?

Yes. Every course is at modsutd.tech/mods/ followed by its course code, and every room at modsutd.tech/venues/ followed by its room code: modsutd.tech/mods/50.040 and modsutd.tech/venues/2.507, for example. Those open straight to that page.
